Ronaldinho for Man City?

Filed under: AC Milan, Manchester City by: Mick

Manchester City have made a £25M bid for Barcelona's out of favour Brazilian ace Ronaldinho!

Ok, so Ronaldinho may be passed his best, but I believe he's still going to be wanting to play Champions League football next year.

No disrespect to Manchester City, but to me that means if a move to the premiership was ever on the cards, then there would be only the big 4 clubs in with a shout of getting his signature.

I can't see the top four places in the premier league being contested with any other teams besides those 4 yet again this coming season.

As far as I know, none of the big 4, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool, have registered an interest in Ronaldinho, so it's unlikely we'll see him gracing the pitches of the English premiership next year.

His name has also been linked with a move to Italian club AC Milan, so given the choice, who would you choose?

Beckham approves Ronaldo move.

Filed under: Manchester United, Real Madrid by: Mick

Former England captain David Beckham has given his seal of approval for Cristiano Ronaldo's 'want-away' move to Real Madrid.

Becks, currently with LA Galaxy, believes the Spanish giants are the only club to rival Manchester United.

Whilst most non-Man U fans would argue with that, very few could argue that they are perhaps the two biggest football clubs in the world.

Beckham believes that a move to Real, copying what he himself did 5 years ago, would be a good move for Ronaldo, who is regarded by many as the best player in the world at the moment.

"He is well loved by the fans at Manchester United, and would cause a lot of disappointment if he did leave", he said, "But obviously, when I left Manchester United the only club I wanted to play for was Real Madrid."

Beckham might be all for it, but personally, I have mixed feeling on the issue.

On the one hand, he is a great talent and his departure would be a great loss to the English game. But on the other hand, speaking as a non-Man U fan, a Ronaldo-less Manchester United side sounds much more appealing. :)

No one player is bigger than any club, and I think with the daft money that is being talked about, Sir Alex Ferguson can make some pretty good replacement signings, and United will still be a force to be reckoned with next season.
